It seems as though it does not matter
what part of the country or world a person lives in, there
seems to be a bird watching blog in every part of it.
Nature enthusiasts who are passionate about bird watching
like to share information through blogging. There are some
bird watching blogs that even have their own webcams set
up so that different species of birds in various areas of
the world can be viewed by bird lovers in other areas via
the webcam.
Examples of Blog Information
There are fascinating bird watching blogs from all over the
United States and Canada. For instance, there is a blog based
in Florida called Naturocity in which a blogger shares
information through photos of not just birds, but all types of
nature on this blog. Across the country there is another bird
watching blog that is called Chickadees, Juncos, and Jays Oh
My! in which a bird watcher shares the sights of Northern
California's backyard birds.
There are also blogs that specialize in the equipment and
specifics of bird watching in their blogs, such as Flyboy
Birding Blog and Binocular Gear. The first blog is full of
information about all types of birds and the tricks of the
trade about bird watching. The second blog is full of
information about binoculars and although it is not fully bird
specific, it does give good information about what to look for
in a good pair of binoculars depending on the situation they
will be used in.
Moving around the world, there is a bird watching blog
called High Latitude Birdwatcher that has an interesting link
to a site called Birdingpal in which bird watchers are
encouraged to become a 'birding pal' with other bird watching
enthusiasts around the world. That way, when a bird watcher
travels, he can meet up with an enthusiast who is familiar with
the birds in that area and can take the foreigner on a bird
watching extravaganza in that area. Basically, the bird
watchers share information about their home area and when they
travel, they link up with bird watchers in that area who will
do the same thing for them. The site has a map which can be
clicked for a particular country and a list of birdingpals
comes up with an email and basic information about them so that
contact can be made. This site also offers information on
trips, lodging and guides for bird watching trips, as well as a
forum where bird watchers can share information with each other
and ask questions.
