Keeping
Track of Species with Bird Watching Check
List
There are bird watching check lists for different areas of
the United States and also other countries in the world. These
check lists are updated by avid bird watchers and bird watching
organizations that keep track of different species of birds in
all different areas. This is an especially important activity
for those species of birds that are on endangered species
lists, because the bird watching check lists tell when and
where these birds have been spotted and often whether the birds
are seen nesting in those areas. This allows people who track
the birds by tagging them to search those areas to keep even
better track of the birds in their natural environment.

Other Check Lists
There are other bird watching check lists that focus
strictly on one particular national park and all of the species
of birds that are in it. This type of a bird watching check
list is beneficial to tourists who travel into these parks for
bird watching because the check lists relay what species of
birds are in the different areas of the parks. This allows
individuals to brush up on those particular species so that
they know what features to look for to identify them, and also
allows bird watchers to choose areas based on the types of
species of birds that they want to find.
Other bird watching check lists have to do with the types of
materials that a person needs to bring with them in order to
bird watch in a particular area. For milder bird watching
trips, the check lists only require that the person has their
binoculars, field guides for the bird species of that
particular area, and any other journals and sketch books that
the person wants to record the different species of birds that
they see. If the area is prone to sudden rain storms like in
Florida, the person will also be advised to have a water proof
bag to carry the supplies in so that they do not get damaged.
Expedition bird watching check lists are more detailed since
the tour will usually require the person to do some hiking
through forests or jungles to see different species of birds.
There are some expedition bird watching trips that also have
the individuals spend the night so that more remote regions can
be reached to view exotic and rare species of birds in
untouched jungles and forests. The bird watching check lists
will detail the clothing and supplies that are needed for that
particular trip, as well as the health requirements for
individuals participating in the tour.
